BlackBerry Messenger is OK in India – for a little while longer

The BlackBerry Messenger Service can keep running in India until January 2011, according to the country's Ministry of Home Affairs, but a permanent solution still needs to be found.

Apple launches lawsuit against Motorola

Last month Motorola claimed that Apple had infringed 18 of its patents, later asking for a number of Apple's patents to be invalidated.

So it's no surprise to hear that Apple has just launched two lawsuits claiming Motorola's Android phones infringe a number of Apple patents.

UK consumers are keen on mobile vouchers

Advertising and marketing website BrandRepublic has just published the results of a new survey from Lightspeed Research about mobile location services and voucher applications.

It contacted 1,001 UK smartphone owners and found that around a fifth had downloaded a voucher application to their phone.

Samsung announces quarterly results with record profit

Samsung Electronics has announced revenue of 40.23 trillion Korean won (around £22.45 billion) for the third quarter of 2010. That's a 12% increase year-on-year and exceeds the previous record for quarterly revenue from Q4 2009.
