Dolby Laboratories says Research in Motion has agreed to license Dolby’s audio technologies for its devices.

As a result, Dolby has withdrawn the two patent infringement lawsuits it had filed against RIM earlier this year.

Research In Motion has announced a new service called BBM Music.

It's a cloud-based service that lets users share their favourite songs with friends via BlackBerry Messenger. The music library already contains millions of songs from leading music companies, including Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI.

Earlier this month, Research In Motion announced two new BlackBerry Bold handsets and three new BlackBerry Torch devices, all running the BlackBerry 7 operating system. It's now following this up with news of three forthcoming BlackBerry Curve phones.

The BlackBerry Curve 9350, BlackBerry Curve 9360 and BlackBerry Curve 9370 smartphone will all use the new BlackBerry 7 OS as well.

Research In Motion has announced a free online service called BlackBerry Management Center.

It's designed for businesses with up to 100 BlackBerry smartphones. The business owner can automatically back-up information, remotely lock the handset, search for lost devices and remotely wipe content.
