Two-thirds of mobile phone owners plan to upgrade within 2 years

The latest Technology Disposability Survey conducted by ICR has found that two out of three mobile phone owners intend to replace their devices within the next two years.

This US-based survey found that younger people were more likely to upgrade; 77% of people aged 18-34 planned to replace their phone or PDA within the next two years, compared with 46% of those over 65.

However, it's not a desire for the latest technology that's driving this change; 78% of owners say they'll need to replace their mobile because the item will get broken or will be lost.
