Steve Jobs reveals Apple iOS 5 and iCloud

As promised, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has opened the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference with a series of announcements.

The next version of the iPhone and iPad operating system - iOS 5 - will have more than 200 new features when it's released this autumn.

Taiwan tech firms challenge iPad with locally designed products

After decades of making PCs at a discount for more well-known foreign companies, Taiwan firms are using their manufacturing experience to design their own machines.

Apple promises iOS 5 preview for iPhone and iPad next week

Next week's Apple Worldwide Developers Conference will see the announcement of iOS 5, the next version of the iPad and iPhone operating system, according to a company statement.

In addition, CEO Steve Jobs will be unveiling a new 'cloud' service called iCloud.

Half of all Apple app downloads are games

App store analyst company Distimo and games market research firm Newzoo are working together to provide monthly data on game sales and downloads across the Apple App Store in various markets.

Their first report shows that half of all free and paid app downloads across the USA, UK, France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands and Belgium are games.
