Mobile media company Blyk, which ran a virtual network in the UK until 2009, has announced that co-founder Antti Őhrling is leaving “to explore new emerging opportunities”.
Mr Őhrling was also chairman of Blyk India.

Google is acquiring California-based company Clever Sense, which created a recommendation application called Alfred.
Alfred works on Android and iOS devices, delivering personalised recommendations about local venues.

A new Ofcom report says smartphone ownership nearly doubled in the UK between February 2010 and August 2011 - increasing from 24% to 46% penetration - with take-up higher in the UK than in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
In addition, the number of people using their mobiles to go online was higher in the UK than in any other country surveyed.
