HTC has issued a statement following a judgement at the US International Trade Commission concerning its legal case with Apple.
In March 2010, Apple said HTC had infringed on ten of its patents; a judge has now ruled that HTC infringed on two patents.

73% of mobile phone users in the USA use their mobile phones to visit social networking sites at least once a day, according to a new survey from ABI Research.
Social networking was the second most-popular mobile activity after checking email, which was carried out by 80% of smartphone, feature phone or tablet users.

The latest MEF Global Consumer Survey shows the UK as a leader when it comes to mobile commerce.
91% of consumers in the UK said they'd used a mobile device to engage in commerce, either for research or for purchasing. Over 8,500 people were contacted in Brazil, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Qatar, Singapore, South Africa, the UK and the USA, with all markets reporting at least 72% of consumers involved in mobile commerce.

Research from Nielsen says games are (still) the most popular app category, with 64% of app downloaders having used them in the last month. Next were weather apps, followed by social networking.
The survey contacted people in the USA who'd downloaded an app in the previous 30 days.

The latest quarterly figures from comScore show that Samsung is the top handset manufacturer in the USA with 24.8% market share while Android is the most-popular smartphone platform with 38.1% market share.
Almost a third of Americans now have smartphones, an 11% increase from the previous three-month period.
