Telefonica Europe - the parent company of O2 UK - has released financial results for the first half of 2011.
It now has 57.3 million customers across its European operations, a 5% increase from last year - and it says revenue was up 2.2% year-on-year to 7.7 million Euro.

This week Flexion announced that its services are now enabling more than one free trial per second in app stores.
The company has created a 'wrapper' of code that lets application developers offer a simple one-click purchase option following a free trial. Flexion-wrapped games are already available in app stores operated by Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.

Sony Ericsson has announced the appointment of Yoshihisa (Bob) Ishida as Deputy CEO and Executive Vice President with effect from 1st September.
Meanwhile, Chief Creation Officer Rikko Sakaguchi - who's been with the joint venture since it was established in 2001 - is leaving to take up a position at Sony Corporation.

GetJar, which describes itself as the world's largest free app store, has just reached 2 billion downloads.
The company, which was founded in 2004, currently offers more than 150,000 applications across a variety of mobile platforms including Android, BlackBerry, Java and Symbian.
