O2 UK has launched a ‘live’ network status checker that lets customers see the current status of the network in their area and check for planned maintenance. It also shows O2 network coverage based on computer predictions.

Orange UK to offer cut-price iPad when bought with a contract

Orange has confirmed it’ll be the first major UK mobile network to offer the Apple iPad at a subsidised price when purchased with a data plan. In a brief statement it said these purchase options for Wi-Fi + 3G iPad models would be available “in the coming months”.

Modu employees apparently made redundant as company fails to raise money

It’s reported that Israeli mobile phone manufacturer Modu is making most of its 30 employees redundant after unsuccessfully trying to raise money. The company, which makes modular mobile phones, recently announced the lightweight Modu T.
