The Interactive Advertising Bureau, whose members are responsible for selling 86% of online advertising in the USA, has published its Internet Advertising Revenue Report for 2011.
Total online ad revenue reached a new record of $31 billion, up 22% from the 2010 total.

UK-based Goode Intelligence has just published the third edition of its GI mSecurity Survey Report, revealing that 24% of participating organisations reported evidence of mobile malware within their business in 2011.

Music discovery service Shazam has announced a deal with UK commercial television broadcaster ITV. It means that ITV’s sales team can offer advertisers the opportunity to have their TV advertisements enabled with Shazam’s recognition service.
The 10 million people in the UK with Shazam on their smartphones will be able to use the app to interact with the adverts, perhaps by entering a competition, accessing exclusive content or finding additional information.

Wireless technology business Qualcomm Incorporated has announced results for the second quarter of its current financial year.
Revenue was up 28% year-on-year to $4.94 billion, while net income was up 123% year-on-year to $2.23 billion.
