HTC has announced quarterly revenue of NT$70.2 billion (£1.49 billion) and net profit of NT$3.9 billion. Profit was down 79% year-on-year, while revenue was down 48%.
China was described as a key driver of growth for HTC in Q3 2012.

Although the 4GEE service from EE is bringing 4G mobile phone service to the UK on Monday, the country’s other networks are busy planning a response.
Today Vodafone has launched a ‘4G phone promise’ for customers who sign up to a new contract on certain 3G phones before 31st March next year.
The UK mobile commerce joint venture previously known as ‘Project Oscar’ has been given a formal name.
Announced in June 2011 by Vodafone, Telefónica and Everything Everywhere, the m-commerce venture is now called Weve.

New research from Strategy Analytics shows that almost 25 million tablet devices were shipped worldwide in the last quarter, with 57% of them running Apple’s iOS and 41% using Android. Microsoft devices - ahead of today’s Windows 8 and Surface tablet launch - had less than a 2% share.
Last year during the same period Android only had a 29% market share.
Figures from Strategy Analytics show global smartphone shipments growing by 35% year-on-year to 161.7 million devices in Q3 2012.
Samsung dominated with a record 35% market share, shipping 56.9 million smartphones worldwide.
