This week has been dominated by the media frenzy that is Mobile World Congress. James Rosewell and I were at MWC for all four days… but even a podcast every day wasn't enough to include all the news, so expect more reports from us next week.

Sunday night saw product announcements from Samsung and Sony Ericsson. If that didn’t make the evening busy enough, the ShowStoppers showcase invited us to meet the great and the good… along with the small and the new.

On Monday we packed in LG's 3D mobile phone and more about Samsung’s new devices, MACH's innovative roaming billing, the future of Symbian, the Wholesale Applications Community and listening to Steve Ballmer.

Our adventures on Tuesday – included in Wednesday morning’s podcast – centred on privacy and personalisation, with help from Qualcomm, the Mobile Marketing Association and Eric Schmidt’s keynote speech.

The following day we talked about a mixture of platforms and products, covering MeeGo, webOS, ViewSonic and Motorola Mobility.

And we rounded things up yesterday with an application focus, thanks to C-CallerID, Nuance FlexT9 and Cortado’s mobile printing.

Other product news this week came from Acer's new tablet range and HTC’s Facebook phones, not forgetting flagship devices from Huawei and ZTE. Talking of Facebook, Gemalto has managed to squeeze it onto a SIM card – a solution that’ll probably go down very well in markets where smartphones are hard to find.

Anyway, that’s it. Mobile World Congress is over for another year. And next year it’s moving to the last week of February, which means the event will no longer clash with Valentine’s Day. Still, a picture message is almost as good as being with your loved one, isn’t it?
