EE is moving all customer calls back to the UK and Ireland

Mobile network EE says it’s going to move its telephone-based customer service operation back to the UK and Ireland by the end of this year.

600 new roles are being created.

In addition, the network has confirmed its commitment to improving 4G coverage, aiming to reach 95% UK geographical coverage by 2020. Current EE coverage is 60% of the UK landmass.

Marc Allera, EE’s CEO, said “We’re bringing 100% of our EE customer service calls back to the UK and Ireland. We’ve already seen a major boost in customer satisfaction by creating 1,400 new service jobs here since 2014. Now we’re creating 600 additional jobs to handle all EE customer service calls in the UK and Ireland by the end of this year, providing the best possible experience for our customers.”

More than a hundred jobs will be created in Merthyr, North Tyneside, Plymouth and Ireland by the end of June 2016. These customer service staff will handle all EE 'Pay Monthly' customer calls. The locations of the remaining 500 roles, providing service for all other EE customers, will be announced later this year.
