Orange has revealed a new programme for its UK dealers. The Orange Partner Programme, which was announced at Orange's recent Indirect Business Channel Conference, will launch at the beginning of April. In addition, a new revenue sharing agreement is due to be revealed in July. Orange is also extending the product range it offers its partners, with dealers able to sell Managed VPNs and the Orange Wirefree Extension later this year.

Network security and compliance auditing firm nCircle has just published a survey that says iPhones present the greatest smartphone security risk to businesses.

The San Francisco-based company surveyed 257 security professionals. 57% believed that the Apple iPhone carried the greatest security risk to enterprises, while 39% warned against Google Android, 28% named BlackBerry and 13% said Nokia had the highest risk.

Mobile billing company mBlox has published survey results that show mobile phone banking is more popular than visiting a local branch or telephone banking via call centres.

37% of UK mobile phone customers are currently using mobile banking, while 25% of US mobile users have adopted mobile banking services.

When asked which banking method they preferred, mobile banking was rated above telephone banking by users in the USA and the UK. Only 2% of respondents in the US and 3% in the UK chose branch banking as their preferred method.

The amount of data sent over the world's mobile phone networks surpassed the volume of voice traffic during December of 2009, according to Ericsson. The figures have come from Ericsson's own network measurements.

Approximately 140,000 Terabytes per month of both voice and data traffic was sent worldwide in December last year.  Ericsson's findings show that global data traffic grew 280% during each of the last two years and is forecast to double annually over the next five years. During the same two-year period, traffic in 3G networks surpassed that of 2G networks.
