ExclusiveSkype drops Windows Phone software

VoIP service Skype says it's removing Skype for Windows Phones and Skype Lite from its download page. Although customers who've downloaded the applications will still be able to use them, the company says it's discontinued them because "neither of these apps offered a great Skype experience".

ExclusiveT-Mobile UK reports a record December in its financial results

As part of the annual financial results released today by Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile UK has also announced its full-year results for 2009.

The company's total customer base grew by 2.3% year-on-year to 17.178 million, with a net total addition of 392,000 customers. The fourth quarter saw 570,000 net customer additions, giving T-Mobile UK its best-ever December. Contract customer numbers rose 0.4% over the year to 4.1 million; the prepay customer base grew 3.0% y-o-y to 13.1 million.

Total revenue for the year was £3.0 billion, down from £3.2 billion in 2008, with the drop blamed partially on lower termination rates. Data revenue was up over 40% and is now a quarter of the company's ARPU.
