ExclusiveNew device prevents mobile phone use while driving

The Key2SafeDriving device, which we mentioned last year, has gone on sale in the USA. K2SD is a Bluetooth device that automatically switches a mobile phone into ‘safe driving mode’ when the key is used. Incoming calls are diverted to voicemail and incoming text messages receive an automated response advising that the user is driving. The company points out that 21% of fatal car crashes involving 16 to 19-year-olds are the result of mobile phone usage.

ExclusiveBT’s curly cord is 50 years old

With mobile-only homes now accounting for over a quarter of households in some UK cities, BT is reminding us that the curly telephone cord first appeared in the UK fifty years ago. It appeared with the iconic 700-type telephone, which was offered in a range of colours, and replaced the previous nylon-covered plaited cord.
