It's getting easier to create Augmented Reality applications, thanks to this week's release of the Qualcomm Augmented Reality Software Development Kit for Android smartphones. The AR SDK will help mobile developers create apps that deliver interactive 3D experiences involving everyday objects and scenes.

Ofcom says mobile and fixed-line communications providers need to do more to publicise services for disabled customers. It's just published the results of mystery shopping research that looked at telephone-based and online help available from BT, Orange, O2, TalkTalk, T-Mobile, Three, Virgin Media and Vodafone.

Spanish telecommunications giant Telefónica – parent of the UK's O2 network – has formed an alliance with chef Ferran Adrià. They'll work together on the transformation of 'El Bulli', which was rated the world’s best restaurant between 2004 and 2009. Mr Adrià recently announced plans to close the restaurant for two years and transform it into a unique 'laboratory' that'll reopen in 2014.

Apple has asked a judge to stay the verdict and judgment in a patent infringement case because of unresolved issues and a query over the form used to submit the jury's verdict. The company was asked to pay $208.5 million for each of three patents it infringed, although the jury didn't make it clear whether the amount was a total figure or a penalty for each infringement.

Ari Jaaksi, Vice President of MeeGo devices at Nokia, has apparently resigned. Press reports note that he quit last week after 12 years with the company. Nokia says his departure won't affect MeeGo’s development schedule; a MeeGo device is expected by the end of this year.
