ZTE Corporation has signed an agreement with the European distribution business of Brightpoint to provide own-branded smartphones and tablet devices to the UK.
The Chinese telecoms company - best-known in the UK for providing 'white label' devices - has previously said it expects to ship more than 80 million handsets this year, up from 60 million units in 2010.

Sony Ericsson, which celebrates its tenth birthday later this year, has just announced its Q2 2011 results.
It ended the quarter with a net loss of 50 million Euro, compared to a net income of 11 million Euro in the previous quarter (and 12 million Euro in Q2 2010).

In our podcast feature on Friday we spoke to industry crime-fighter Jack Wraith about the security of voice messages. He explained how remote voicemail access was now much more secure than it was ten years ago, which is good news for everyone (except dodgy investigators).
