The May 2011 survey of US mobile consumers from Nielsen has revealed that 55% of people who bought a new handset in the past three months said they'd chosen a smartphone instead of a feature phone.
That's up from 34% a year ago.

The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection Standing Committee on Epidemiology has just published a report after analysing all published studies that examined whether there is a link between mobile phone use and the main types of brain tumour.
It concludes "Although there remains some uncertainty, the trend in the accumulating evidence is increasingly against the hypothesis that mobile phone use can cause brain tumours in adults."

Vodafone has launched an own-brand content channel on Google's Android Market, creating the first such channel in Europe.
The Vodafone channel will appear as a 'tab' on the Android Market home page. It'll offer it offers customers a selection of Vodafone services along with other news, sport, information and gaming apps.
