Safer Internet Day and the security risks facing young smartphone users

It’s Safer Internet Day today, which is a European Commission-backed event that’s all about promoting the safer use of online technology - both fixed-line and mobile internet connections - with a particular focus on children and young people.

Internet security specialist G Data has taken advantage of the occasion to offer its top five mobile security tips for parents and children to help them stay safe online.

HTC announces fourth quarter and annual results for 2011

HTC Corporation has published financial results for the fourth quarter of 2011 and for the full year.

Total quarterly revenue was NT$101.42 billion (£2.16 billion), while net profit was down to NT$10.94 billion. However, revenue for the full year was up 67% to NT$465.79 billion and net profit was up 57% to NT$61.98 billion.

O2 continues its Rugby partnership for another four years

2 UK has extended its partnership with the Rugby Football Union for four more years. It’s been sponsoring the RFU and England Rugby since the game turned professional in 1995.

As part of the new agreement, O2 will extend its Priority service to give customers priority access to tickets for England matches at Twickenham stadium.
