RIM forced to drop BlackBerry BBX name

The US Federal Court has granted a temporary restraining order against Research in Motion that prevents RIM from referring to its new BlackBerry operating system as ‘BBX’. BBx is a trademark of software company Basis International.

The order stops BBX from being promoted at RIM’s BlackBerry developer conference in Singapore this week.

Android Market passes 10 billion app downloads

Google says the Android Market application store has now served over 10 billion app downloads - and continues to grow at a rate of one billion downloads per month.

The first billion downloads were achieved in July 2010.
