An ABI Research survey in the USA has revealed that 53% of smartphone users say they already have or soon will use their handsets for mobile banking. In addition, almost half of smartphone users say they have or plan to use their phones to do mobile shopping.

UK-based network management specialist Arieso has compared the subscriber demand for mobile data from different devices. It found that Android users were particularly ‘data hungry’ in terms of data call volumes, time connected to the network, and data volume sent and received.
