Mobile data revenue might not compensate for voice decline

A new study by the Economist Intelligence Unit (sponsored by InnoPath) has found that only a minority of telecoms executives believe growth in revenue from mobile data services will make up for a decline in voice revenue over the next five years. Almost 200 senior execs in the mobile telecommunications industry were interviewed but only 44% thought data growth would compensate for the voice decline.

UK mobile customers want flexible tariffs, says research

New research from Convergys Corporation says 61% of UK consumers would spend more with their chosen mobile network if they were able to choose options that fitted their needs. Consumers are willing to include payment for broadband, TV and even game consoles with their mobile service – but only if the deal is flexible enough to suit the customer.

Currently 49% of consumers said they don't receive any promotions or 'bundle' offers from their providers, although 72% said they'd like to.
