BlackBerry has signed a ‘letter of intent’ agreement that could see a consortium led by Canadian shareholder Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited acquiring the company.
Fairfax, which currently owns around 10% of BlackBerry shares, would pay around $4.7 billion (£2.9 billion) for the remainder of the business.

Apple says it’s sold nine million new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c smartphones within the first three days of them going on sale.
The figure is a new record for Apple, although it’s also the first time the company has launched two handset models and included China in its initial launch.

Google has made the Quickoffice productivity app free for Android and Apple iOS devices.
Quickoffice, which enables users to update Microsoft Office documents from a mobile device, was acquired by Google last year.

Tesco has launched a 7-inch Android tablet that it’s calling Hudl. It’ll go on sale next Monday for £119.
Hudl has an HD screen and runs Android 4.2.2 on a 1.5GHz quad-core processor.
