When it came to telephones, my granny was an early adopter. She had a landline phone for as long as I can remember - and that’s quite a while when you consider the town only got an automatic telephone exchange two years after I was born. Recent research has now suggested that my granny was also well ahead of the game when it came to consumer behaviour.

Adobe Systems has announced a restructuring that’ll see the business focussing on what it calls ‘the explosive growth categories’ of Digital Media and Digital Marketing solutions.
It says it’ll be shifting its resources to support greater investment in HTML5, with Flash resources concentrated on PC-based web experiences and mobile apps.

Consumer concerns about the security of NFC mobile contactless payments are causing a barrier to adoption, according to new research commissioned by digital security company Gemalto. The information has been released as part of the company’s campaign for better education around the subject of NFC.
Over a third of respondents - 34% - said they hadn’t used or wouldn’t use their phone as a mobile wallet due to security concerns, with 24% not trusting NFC because they didn’t understand how it worked.

The UK’s Advertising Standards Authority has upheld complaints about TV advertisements by Motorola Mobility for the Motorola DEFY smartphone.
The ads showed the phone being dropped in a nightclub with an on-screen message reading “dance floor proof”. However, three complainants said they had dropped their phones accidentally and the screens had cracked.
