ExclusiveCanonical wants to crowd-fund its Ubuntu desktop/smartphone hybrid

Canonical, the company behind the open-source Ubuntu platform, has announced plans for a smartphone that transforms into a desktop PC.

The Ubuntu Edge will have a 4.5-inch display and will connect to any HDMI monitor. All the specifications are subject to change but a multi-core processor and 128GB of storage are expected.

ExclusiveQuarterly results published by Vodafone

Vodafone’s latest quarterly results show the company’s European businesses suffering from what it calls ‘increased competitive intensity’. Overall, group service revenue including joint ventures reached £10.16 billion.

That’s a 2.5% increase year-on-year but the organic figure - excluding events such as acquisitions - shows a 3.5% drop.
