The Apple App Store, which celebrates its fifth anniversary today, contains over half a million applications that receive very few downloads, according to new research.
The BBC reports that app tracking company Adeven has calculated 579,001 apps out of the total 888,856 iOS apps in its database are ‘zombies’.

The Advertising Standards Authority has upheld a complaint about the www.lycamobile.co.uk web site, which referred to various tariffs as offering ‘unlimited’ calls, text messages and mobile data.
Smaller print then said “Unlimited usage is subject to a fair usage of 3000 minutes/texts/MB per month per SIM. Usage in excess of your fair usage allowance will be charged at standard rates.”

Vodafone UK has told its ‘pay as you go’ customers that it’s moving away from charging for standard calls by the second.
From 1st August, customers will be charged per full minute for calls to UK landlines and mobiles.
