Nokia plans music and light show to celebrate Nokia Lumia 800 in London

Nokia is planning a unique music and light show at the Millbank Tower next to the River Thames in London on Monday 28th November.

Canadian music producer deadmau5 will be working with 4D projection artists for a unique audiovisual show that’ll be visible from both sides of the river. The performance will include two new tracks specially composed for the event.

Claire Valoti appointed MD of O2 Media after Shaun Gregory moves on

Telefonica UK has appointed Claire Valoti as Managing Director of its O2 Media business with effect from January 2012. She’s taking over from Shaun Gregory, the ex-Blyk CEO who joined the company in February 2009.

O2 Media delivers personalised targeted messaging to customers and is responsible for the O2 More loyalty scheme, which has over six million customers.

New partnership gives 2ergo even more insight into mobile users

Mobile specialist business 2ergo is collaborating with the Callcredit Information Group to provide customers with a detailed insight into the UK’s mobile phone users.

Callcredit’s consumer data - which includes demographics, credit information and lifestyle data - will be integrated into 2ergo’s recently-launched mobileDNA platform.

Vexed Digital acquires Future Platforms

UK-based digital agency Vexed Digital has acquired mobile specialist Future Platforms.

Future Platforms was founded in 2000 by Tom Hume, while Vexed Digital was formed in 2006 by the founders of the Good Technology agency (subsequently renamed ‘GT’ and now VML London).

Value of mobile payments for physical goods will almost treble in next four years

A new report from Juniper Research expects the gross merchandise transaction value of mobile payments for physical goods to exceed $170 billion worldwide by 2015.

That’s almost three times this year’s forecast of $60 billion.
